The Road I Traveled

Perhaps meditating on their own strange destiny, clients often ask me: How did you come to be in Boise?

I came to Boise in 1994, with my spouse David and my seven year old son Rob.  I can't say that I was delighted to be moving to Boise, but I was ignorant then and I have since come to love it.

David came to serve the regional ministry of the Presbyterian Church.  I continued my work in corporate accounting, and from 1994 to 2001 I worked for a couple of well known Boise businesses . . . and then my long-held dream of becoming a realtor became a reality.

Born in Harrisonburg, Virginia, I grew up in Sarasota, Florida in a family that was struggling to maintain traditional Mennonite traditions.  My personal journey led me to the Presbyterian Church and to a book called The Road Less Traveled, and then I met David!

Our initial connection was the brief rise and fast fall of the solar energy industry, but a more durable product of that business relationship is a romance that has lasted 21+ years.

Our son Rob is now 17 years old and a student at Meridian Charter (technology) School.  My son Quinlan (28) is working in southern California.  My step-daughters Meegan (30) and Rachel (26) live in Denver, where Meegan studies medicine and Rachel works as a pharmaceutical representative.

So, though my road led to Boise, not all roads do.
